HAWK WALK

The Falconry School is home to the largest and most diverse collection of Harris hawks in the world. During your private Hawk Walk you will fly one of our wonderful Harris hawks, a species renowned for their easy-going temperament and unusually sociable nature. As you fly your hawk, the Falconer will explain all about the hawks exceptional eyesight, their speed and agility but also about the individual hawks that you are flying. We are unique in that we train all of the hawks ourselves and we never sell them, we make a lifelong commitment to them. They are flown free every day and are looked after to an exceptionally high standard which is unmatched.

A Private One Hour Hawk Walk

Ireland’s School of Falconry specialise in one hour private Hawk Walks where YOU fly our Harris hawks. Our aim is to share with you the pleasure and excitement of falconry, a fascination that has enthralled people for 4,000 years.

Your instructor will introduce you to your hawk and, within minutes, you will be setting off around the magnificent woodlands to fly your hawk, or team of two hawks, free. As you fly the hawks, your Falconer will explain about the hawks exceptional eyesight, their speed and agility and also about the individual hawks that you are flying, their characters and temperaments and how easy or difficult they were to train. They are part of our family and we never sell them.

Spectators

€25 per spectator, maximum of 2 spectators per Hawk Walk booking.

Groups Prices

Bookings of 7 persons and over will be split into 2 or more groups.

Please note that it is not usually possible to add spectators to group bookings.

All of our Hawk Walks are private experiences, so you won’t be joined by other people that you don’t know, you will have a hawk and a falconry instructor all to yourselves.

Children must be over the age of 7 years to come into the Falconry School. No children under the age of 7 years are allowed entry, even if only to spectate.

Extended Hawk Walk

The age limit for this 90-minute Hawk Walk is 14 years. The Extended Hawk Walk allows us to go for a longer walk in the woods giving you a bit more flying time with the hawks and a greater insight into the hawks’ world. It’s the perfect option for those who know they are going to love it.

All of our Hawk Walks are private experiences, we do not join different people together who do not know each other, you will have your hawks and a falconry instructor all to yourselves, and spectators are welcome to accompany you free of charge.
