While there are other places to do Hawk Walks, the environment at Ashford Castle makes the experience more enchanting. This is one of those experiences that become part of your bucket list once you learn about it. This is one of the coolest things we’ve ever done on a trip. Flying a hawk oneself is a life-changing experience. How often does one get to look into the eyes of a bird of prey and see the beauty of these graceful animals up close. In fact they inspired me to take a second walk a couple of days later. DO NOT MISS THIS!

Each hawk is unique, and you learn their habits and personalities before the walk. Once your guide selects “your” hawk, the walk begins. It is an amazing experience to bond with a hawk over an hour or so. Our guide was SUPERB!
